Cable network TLC will debut an eight-part series focusing on the daily lives of several American Muslims living in Dearborn on Sunday, November 13 at 10 p.m. Eastern.

According to TLC’s press release, the show will explore “the rarely seen world of American Muslims to uncover a unique community struggling to balance faith and nationality in a post 9/11 world.”

Each episode will offer “an intimate look at their customs and celebrations, as well as the misconceptions, conflicts, and differences they face outside and within their own community,” the release said.

The show will follow five families as they navigate through work, school, and their communities. The cast includes the Fordson High School football coach, a married couple experiencing fertility issues, a newlywed couple expecting their first baby, two very different sisters, a businesswoman trying to start a nightclub against her family’s advice, and a husband and wife juggling their respective careers as a deputy chief sheriff and an auto manufacturer consultant.
