Last Thursday, the fifth annual Maize and Blue Talent Show was held in Kochoff. This year, the theme of the show was “The M Factor,” to be modeled off of the popular television show, The X Factor. Kappa Omega Chi and Phi Sigma Phi hosted the show.

Nine acts performed, along with an opening by the UM-D Dance Team, intermission entertainment by some of the campus’ fraternities, and a step and stroll performance after all the acts. Talents ranged from singing to juggling.

All proceeds from ticket sales, raffles, and donations went to the Mercy Education Project. The philanthropic project provides educational opportunities, life skills, and cultural enrichment for women and young girls who don’t have such resources available to them.

First, second, and third place winners of the show took home cash prizes. Winners were decided by a panel of five judges, which included students, advisors, and professors.

The band Friends with Benefits won first place.
