Basketball season is approaching for the Detroit Pistons, starting with their home opener on Halloween at 7:30pm against the Rockets.
After Brandon Knight’s breakout season last year, he will be returning as the key player to watch this season. Knight now has the experience of one year under his belt, and is ready to take the Pistons to a playoff contending team once again.
Another stand out player is Greg Monroe; he has been one of the brightest spots on the Pistons this preseason. He has been averaging 13.4 points per game along with six rebounds per game. Although these are solid numbers, the Pistons will need more than that if they want to be serious contenders in the Eastern Conference this year.
Rodney Stuckey is another key player to a winning season. He is one of the most consistent players in his position; Stuckey poses a serious threat in the paint, and is more than capable of scoring from outside the arc as well.
The final impact player on the Detroit Pistons is Tayshaun Prince, who is entering season number 11 as a Piston. He is a utility player, and is a more than capable scorer, and a great defender. The Pistons went .500 in preseason, winning all four games at The Palace. The Pistons have some work to do; they do have some talent that needs to reach it full potential.
It is important that they have a good start to their season, unlike like last year starting 4-20. This year seems more promising with returning young players having more experience under their belt.
