The Union at Dearborn unveiled a first glimpse of its new student housing to students on Wednesday, November 14 at a grand opening event showcasing a model room in University of Michigan-Dearborn’s University Center.

Located in #2194 University Center, the model room will now provide information to students about the new housing options, as well as serving as a leasing office temporarily on Monday-Friday from 9 a.m.-6 p.m., and Saturday 9 a.m.-4 p.m.

The Union, which will open in Fall 2013, will offer one, two, three, and four bedroom housing options in its 145 apartment facility, in which they plan to have a total of 504 beds to accommodate student demand for the housing option. It will be located directly across from the University Campus on the other side of Evergreen Road.

Rent at The Union at Dearborn will cover furniture, utilities, cable television, a fitness facility, public laundry, and internet. Student financial aid may help to cover living costs for UM-D students. All students are eligible for the housing option.

A “Name your space” contest, ran by Student Government, enabled UM-D students to get involved in naming the space the University will lease.
