Carol A. Goss is the keynote speaker at the University of Michigan-Dearborn’s commencement ceremony on Saturday, December 15. Goss is the president and CEO of the Skillman Foundation.

After joining the Skillman Foundation in 1998, she continued to fulfill the mission of the foundation to improve the lives of children in metro Detroit.

Goss has won numerous awards, including Detroit’s Idealist in Action award, Olivet College’s Leadership in Individual and Social Responsibility Award, 2010 Michiganian of the Year, and the 2007 James A. Joseph Lecturer.

Goss graduated from the University of Michigan with a B.A. in sociology and M.S.W.

Other speakers include UM-Dearborn’s Vice Chancellor Daniel Little, Jonathan Smith, William E. Stirton, Kate Davy, provost and vice chancellor for academic affairs at UM-Dearborn, and student Gabrielle Boyer, who is graduating with distinction with a B.A. in political science.
