It was all fun and games on Tuesday, January 14 while students participated in the Student Activities Board’s (SAB) annual Winter Blast here on the University of Michigan-Dearborn campus.

This year, students were able to have customized street signs and 3D key chains made, as well as take part in some fun activities in Kochoff Hall.

Students were in fierce competition with each other at the Pool Table as their peers stood around them and watched. There was also a Foosball Table, a Fast Pitch Inflatable, Air Hockey, and Table Tennis.

The most exciting part of the Winter Blast festivities was the laser crystal imaging used to create 3D key chains for each student. Students sat in front of the screen, the 3D scanner scans them, and their image is engraved into the glass.

UM-Dearborn students also enjoyed the custom street signs that were being made on the University Center stage. People walked away with signs for friends, funny signs, and signs for their organizations.

This year’s Winter Blast gave students the chance to take a break from the stress and enjoy time with their friends. They also got the chance to take a break from all of the fun and enjoy some free food, which is always something to look forward to.

Along with all of the fun activities, SAB managed to advertise themselves in Kochoff with a table full of free merchandise.

They had their classic SAB drawstring bags, USB car adapters, water bottles, and Yo-yos. When you combine free food, free fun, and free merchandise, you get a very memorable and enjoyable event.

We will remember this year’s Winter Blast by the connections we made standing in line, the cool 3D key chains, and the signs that are most likely hanging in our bedrooms somewhere.
