On Thursday March 6, 2014, the University of Michigan-Dearborn kicked off the first of many events called The Brown Bag Series.

In celebration of the diversity that UM-Dearborn prides itself on having, the Office for Student Engagement and UM-Dearborn invited Roop Raj, a renowned broadcast journalist on WJBK Fox 2 News, to come and share advice and the necessary skills needed to achieve their goals as students and future contributors to society. Raj talked about his life and his goals as a child who wanted to be a broadcast journalist, which later became his reality.

The event went on from 1:00-2:00p.m in the Kochoff Halls of the University Center, followed by a questions and answer session with Raj and the students. UM-Dearborn offers a wide range of events celebrating diversity in the community, which will also help to kick off the Brown Bag Series which has a projected beginning during the 2014/2015 Fall Semester.
