I am not a Michigan alumni, nor am I a Michigan resident, so I am not sure whether or not the article “Small World, Big Problem” is supposed to be taken seriously. Yet, the article referenced Florida State Representative Ritch Workman’s attempt to revoke a state ban on dwarf tossing. At the time of Workman’s crusade, he argued “All that [the ban] does is prevent some dwarfs from getting jobs they would be happy to get.” No one did a better job of underscoring how ridiculous was Workman’s argument than Stephen Colbert. On an episode of the “Colbert Report” he said, “Dwarfs would be happy to have these jobs. I am sure the only reason Peter Dinklage is on ‘Game of Thrones’ is because he couldn’t get a good job getting chucked at a wall.” More than two years have passed since Colbert made the comment, but the joke still applies to anyone that tries to make a case for dwarf tossing.
