Need a little more singing in your life? Have a love for music, culture, and meeting new people? If so, U of M Dearborn has yet another opportunity to get involved in something you love! An A Capella organization will be starting soon for students with a passion for beautiful music. Although they have not officially “opened their doors” quite yet, co-chairs of the group, Michael LaFramboise and Sergio Reyes, along with their faculty advisor, are planning to start auditions in a couple of weeks. The group will be performing together, aiming for about 16 people in the group (4 for each major part). They will be deciding on music and a name for the group through a vote from all members, once things get rolling.
After auditions have undergone, the co-chairs are planning on holding bi-weekly practices. “The first semester for us,” says LaFramboise, “will be mostly focused on practice and the building of a repertoire. But, we will most likely start during the winter with caroling in the Detroit area. In the spring, there are Midwest area A Cappella competitions we hope to compete in. And, of course, we will be performing events in the Detroit area all throughout the second semester.” For more information about the group and any questions about getting involved, contact Michael LaFramboise at email@example.com
