  • Colby DeMare — Volleyball (3%, 5 Votes)

Total Voters: 197

Besa Ziberi — Women’s soccer

Stats: Four goals (one hat trick) vs. Wayne State and Washtenaw (Oct. 18-19)

Besa Ziberi was a candidate in last week’s Player of the Week voting, finishing in third place with 31 votes. This week, Ziberi looks to continue her case for the honors after scoring four goals, including a hat trick in two games.

Colby DeMare — Volleyball

Stats: 32 kills, 118 total attacks, 21 digs vs. Marygrove, Siena Heights and Madonna (Oct. 15-Oct. 18)

It seems like Colby DeMare has been a candidate for Player of the Week for quite some time (it’s her fourth time in the voting process this year). Even with the volleyball team entering uncharted territory with the possibility of a winless season, DeMare has shined as her breakout year continues. She posted a whopping 118 total attacks in three combined games.

Ryan Kelly — Hockey

Stats: Two goals vs. Illinois (Oct. 17-18)

The hockey team was swept by a top-tier foe for the second consecutive weekend, but Kelly managed to net two goals in the series against Illinois.

Megan Seccombe — Women’s soccer

Stats: Two goals vs. Wayne State and Washtenaw (Oct. 18-19)

Ziberi wasn’t the only women’s soccer player to shine over the weekend. Megan Seccombe netted two goals to lead the Wolverines to their two wins.

Nate Szymkowicz — Men’s soccer

Stats: One assist vs. Siena Heights, Cornerstone (Oct. 15, 18)

Nate Szymkowicz helped ignite the Wolverines’ offense in recent games. He’s been a key factor to keeping the team’s WHAC playoff hopes alive.
