History was made this week in the Wolverine Hoosier Athletic Conference.
On Oct. 10, Lawrence Tech senior Kasey Clark broke the WHAC record for the most kills in one match with 35. Lawrence Tech would go on to defeat Concordia in five sets, thanks to the record-setting kills from Clark. She was fittingly named the WHAC player of the week.
This week in the WHAC, No. 13 Davenport surpassed the No. 16 Madonna for the top spot in the conference. Davenport continued its dominance of the WHAC as it extended its eight-game conference win streak after defeating Aquinas on Oct. 15.
Madonna was upset by unranked Lourdes at home on Oct. 4. Madonna and Northwestern Ohio are now tied as the second best teams in the WHAC with 11-2 records in conference play, although the Crusaders beat the Racers in five sets on Oct. 8.
Davenport’s next important conference match will be Oct. 22, a visit to Northwestern Ohio. Madonna will look to regain the top spot in the WHAC when it takes the road to play Davenport on Nov. 5.
