The University of Michigan-Dearborn women’s basketball team came out with both a win and a loss this weekend.

The Wolverines fell to Mount Vernon Nazarene 84-74 on Nov. 14, and topped Lourdes 64-54 in their first Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference game of the year on Nov. 15.

Although they eventually lost, the Wolverines were down 43-27 at halftime against Mount Vernon and managed to score 47 points in the second half.

Jalissa Williams had another monster week, snagging two double-doubles.

She had 30 points and 12 rebounds against Mount Vernon Nazarene, and scored 23 points and grabbed 14 rebounds against Lourdes. This is William’s fourth consecutive double double this season.

Mount Vernon Nazarene was dominant on three-point attempts. It went 12-for-20, while UM-Dearborn went 2-10.

Senior guard Andrea Collins scored 19 points for the Wolverines and added six assists against Mount Vernon Nazarene

Although Lourdes outscored the Wolverines, 43-38, in the second half ,the team was able to build a huge lead in the first half to capture the win.

Along with William’s big performance, Courtney Teets added 11 points and two steals. Collins had 15 points and four assists.

UM-Dearborn has a big task ahead this week. The Wolverines will travel to Wayne State on Nov. 18 before returning home to host Northwestern Ohio on Nov. 19.
