The University of Michigan-Dearborn men’s basketball team claiming its first win of the season Nov. 12 highlighted a week full of splits. The university’s other two varsity teams in play went .500 from Nov. 11-15.
JUCO transfer guard Darryl Mobley Jr. has taken over as the Wolverines’ main scoring threat under first-year head coach Taylor Langley. Mobley Jr. dropped a combined 48 points in UM-Dearborn’s three games last week.
Marcus McSweeney stood out amongst a barrage of scorers in UM-Dearborn hockey’s split with No. 23 Western Michigan last week. The freshman defenseman scored one goal and added two assists in the two-game road series.
And Jalissa Williams continues to power the UM-Dearborn women’s basketball team. In two games last week, the star forward totaled 53 points and 26 rebounds as the Wolverines went 1-1.
The Michigan Journal won’t return to print until Dec. 1, but its Player of the Week series will remain active online. Voting ends Nov. 20 at 8 p.m.
