Taylor Langley continues to add size to the University of Michigan-Dearborn men’s basketball team.
He announced Thursday evening that 2015 Dakota (Macomb, Mich.) forward Alex Hagel committed to the Wolverines.
At 6-foot-5, 225 pounds, Hagel joins an already impressive list of returning forwards in Paul Standtke, Jason Penn and Marcus Williams.
“Glad to say I’ve committed to The University of Michigan-Dearborn to play basketball,” Hagel tweeted. “The next four years are going to be great.”
Hagel led Dakota to 21-straight victories and a 21-3 record last season. Dakota reached the Class A Regional Finals before losing to Clarkston.
According to the Detroit News, Hagel averaged 15 points and eight rebounds per game as a senior after losing 30 pounds in the offseason. The News also reported Hagel was being recruited by NCAA Division-II schools.
Langley is excited to have earned Hagel’s commitment.
“Not only is (Alex Hagel) going to add size leadership and toughness but he has a great shooting touch and serious back to the basket game,” Langley tweeted.
