After two months on the diamond, the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference softball tournament is set.
The University of Michigan-Dearborn will face Northwestern Ohio April 29 at 6 p.m. in the opening round of the tournament, held at the Art Van Complex in Rockford, Mich.
UM-Dearborn earned the fourth seed in the tournament after a 11-7 WHAC record in 2015. Northwestern Ohio is the fifth seed with a 10-8 conference record.
The Wolverines played two games vs. Northwestern Ohio in 2015 — a doubleheader at Ladywood High School on April 19. They split with the Racers, dropping the first game, 5-4, and taking the second game, 4-2.
UM-Dearborn finished with the same WHAC record as Concordia, but the Cardinals earned the tiebreaker after sweeping the Wolverines on April 22.
The winner of UM-Dearborn-Northwestern Ohio will face the winner of Madonna-Siena Heights at 8:30 p.m. The losers of both matchups will face off in an elimination game at the same time.
The tournament lasts from April 29-May 1.
