Adrian’s Brad Kobryn edges Ryan Urso for ACHA Rookie of the Year

Ryan Urso had a freshman season to remember at the University of Michigan-Dearborn, winning numerous awards after totaling 39 points in 35 games.

Except for one.

Urso was edged by Adrian’s Brad Kobryn for the ACHA Division-I Rookie of the Year award.

Kobryn also earned Player of the Year honors after totaling a robust 55 points and 22 assists for one of the nation’s top teams.

Urso was announced as one of four finalists for the award at UM-Dearborn’s all-sports banquet on May 8. According to achahockey.org, the awards were announced May 2.

UM-Dearborn’s captain for the upcoming season did not go home empty-handed; Urso was named to the ACHA’s All-Rookie team.
