The signees keep coming for Taylor Langley

The University of Michigan-Dearborn men’s basketball coach added a third member to his 2015 recruiting class Tuesday after Howell guard Jake Wendel signed with the team.

Langley described Wendel as a “lights-out shooter, great student, and hard worker” while announcing the signing on Twitter.

Wendel starred for Howell as a senior, earning a spot on the KLAA Lakes All-Conference team. He averaged 9.1 points and 4.1 rebounds per game last season.

According to the KLAA All-Conference awards list, Wendel served as a co-captain at Howell. His coach, Nicholas Simon, spoke highly of Wendel in a “coach’s comments” section on the awards list.

“(Wendel is) an unbelievable shooter who does a great job spacing the floor for us,” Simon said. “His ability to run the court and his knowledge for the game have helped us immensely.”

According to Langley, Wendel made 94 three-point shots last season while shooting 42 percent from three.

Wendel joins forwards Alex Hagel and Khary Fanning as members of the Wolverines’ 2015 class.
