Michigan’s defensive weakness in 2014 may be becoming one of its strengths as the 2015 season quickly approaches.

There are only a few familiar faces that will return as starters for the Wolverines defensive backfield, one that boasted the seventh total defense in the country last season.

Cornerbacks Channing Stribling, Jourdan Lewis and safety Jarrod Wilson will all return as impact players for the Michigan defense.

Transfer redshirt senior cornerback Wayne Lyons and redshirt freshman sensation Jabrill Peppers will look to make a name for themselves in the maize and blue.

In the sixth of nine position previews on the Michigan football team before the 2015 season, Staff Reporter Geoff Mehl takes a look at the defensive backs.
