Take Back the Night

The Take Back the Night event will be held Thursday, Oct. 15 and will include a rally and march calling for an end to sexual assault and domestic violence. Activities begin in Kochoff Hall B in the University Center at 6 p.m. The event will provide a safe environment for all participants to share their stories and inform others of how to prevent and be aware of such crimes. Speakers from several organizations will be in attendance. Take Back the Night is sponsored by the Women in Learning and Leadership (WILL), Women’s Resource Center, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inkster Alumnae Chapter and SOAC.

Flu Shots Available

Flu shots will be available on campus from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 13 at the University Center in Kochoff Hall B and C. Shots will also be given from 12 – 5 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 26 at the University Center in Kochoff Hall A. MI Healthy, in partnership with Michigan Visiting Nurses, will hold these two events.

Employees, spouses and OQA’s covered under the U-M health insurance plans will not be charged. For all others the rate will be $25 per person.

Disability Awareness Month Event

From 12 – 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 14, Disability Services along with University of Michigan Council of Disability Concern and University of Michigan Health Systems will present a presentation regarding Stigmas, Stereotypes & Bullying in 116 Union. National Writing Day

Campuses around the nation will participate in National Writing Day on Tuesday, Oct. 20. UM-Dearborn will be hosting special events to commemorate the day between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. in the Writing Center located in room 3035 CASL Bldg. The Writing Center ‘Write-In’ features a 6-word story contest. The day’s events include a open house, snacks and the Write-in. Come with a notebook or device and write.

 Love Your Body Day

The Women’s Resource Center will be hosting Love Your Body Day. The event will be held between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 22 on the University Center Stage. There will be activities and information on positive body image.

Mobile Mammography on Campus

On Tuesday, Oct. 27, in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, St. John Providence Health System will host the St. John Providence Mobile Mammography on campus. The mobile unit will be located in the Fairlane Center South Parking Lot from 1- 4 p.m. Space is limited.
