Get Some Burritos in Ann Arbor had such fast service the night I visited that by the time I walked to my seat, I was headed back to the counter to pick up my order.

I was drawn to Get Some Burritos after a Michigan football game, searching for a place where the wait would be short and the prices reasonable. The restaurant provides fast food, but it doesn’t feel like fast food. For less than $7, I was able to get a huge burrito, overflowing with goodness.

By “goodness,” I mean corn, onion, peppers, guacamole, pico de gallo and lettuce — lots of it. I ordered the veggie burrito. I was surprised by the amount of corn filling the burrito when I took my first bite, but the corn tasted so good that I was happy to have so many kernels. The corn used on Get Some’s veggie burritos is marinated and makes up completely for a lack of meat. The burrito was spicy and plentiful, with hints of jalapeno throughout. The heat wasn’t overpowering, but it had a pleasant kick.

The downside to the restaurant is the size of the building; when people from the football game started pouring in, things got cramped pretty quickly.

Get Some Burritos also gets involved with the city by hosting contests that place during Michigan football games. Their Facebook page (facebook.com/GSBAnnArbor) details three ways to enter a contest where the prize is $10,000. Their Facebook also features a word of day that guests can use to score free food. Who doesn’t love free Mexican food? Plus, Get Some is open late: until 11 p.m. during weekdays, 3 a.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 8 p.m. on Sundays.

Get Some Burritos also serves tacos, flautas, nachos, quesadillas, fries and chips and salsa or guacamole.

Get Some Burritos is located 707 Packard in Ann Arbor.

Their constest apparently is a scam for there is no winner of the 10,000 prize. They say there is a winner but yet they won’t release a name.
