From bedroom producer to playing at venues all over the world, Canadian artists, Datsik, has taken on his 2016 Spring Loaded Tour. Joining Datsik across the North American tour will be OOKAY and up-and-comer DREZO. With Datsik’s bass-heavy sets and Ookay exploring the boundaries between hip hop and EDM, both as a team are sure to create soul-crushing drops and blow up dance floors across all venues!

On April 22, the tour and his talented support will be making their way to Elektricity Nightclub in Pontiac, Mich. Doors will open at 9:30 p.m ., and ages 18 and up are welcome. General admission tickets average around $30.  Being known for his dope sets, Datsik is guaranteed to get the crowd hype and put on a great show!

Datsik hasn’t just impacted the bass scene; I’ve been following him for a year now, since I discovered him at Electric Forest in 2015, and I personally believe that he has helped shape the bass scene to where it is now and where it is going. In addition to the Spring Loaded Tour, Datsik’s Darkstar EP was released on Firepower Records recently. What defines him as an individualist and separates him from other dubstep producers is that he has been collaborating with a variety of the music industry’s elite rappers. The Darkstar track list is:

  1. DATSIK- “Tantrum” (Feat. Trinidad James)
  2. DATSIK- “Let ’em know” (Feat. Armanni Reign)
  3. DATSIK & Soltan- “No Mind”
  4. Datsik- “Get Back”
  5. DATSIK- “Darkstar” (Feat. Travis Barker & Liinks)
  6. DATSIK & Zack The Lad- “Feel Good”

Darkstar features heavy bass, energy intense vocals, variations of dubstep and other badass collaborative styles. Posted on Datsik’s Instagram, he said, “I feel like it’s some of the dopest shit I’ve written to date so I’m very excited to share with ya’ll a brand new one called GET BACK! Check it on my Soundcloud! #darkstar.” The song reveals more of his dark style. “Get back” starts off with some natural sounding effects on synths and some ambiance in the background. The melody kicks off slow and gradually rises to a headbanging drop.  The song definitely moves you from head to toe.

If you haven’t checked out his new EP, I definitely recommend giving it a listen.

Tickets are still available for the show in Pontiac on April 22 through clubtix.com.
