UM-Dearborn Hockey Player Passes Away

A University of Michigan-Dearborn hockey player passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, Oct. 29.

Ben McPartlin of Trenton was 25.

McPartlin, a freshman on the team, mentored young hockey players, previously working for the Downriver Hockey Academy.

He was also co-owner of Michigan Top-Shelf Hockey, where he helped instruct players.

McPartlin studied engineering at UM-Dearborn

Visitation will be at Weise Funeral Home in Allen Park (7210 Park Ave. Allen Park, MI 48101) on Thursday, Nov. 3 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Friday, Nov. 4 from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m., with a vigil at 7 p.m.

On Saturday, Nov. 5, there will a mass at 10 a.m. at St. Anne’s in Detroit (1000 St. Anne St., Detroit, MI 48216).
