An event planned by students in the Business to Business Marketing course will take place next week to educate the community about Islam.

The event was planned as part of a service learning opportunity. The class created two groups, Peace Proactive and Humans of Dearborn, to not only educate students, faculty and other guests about the religion, but also combat violent extremism.

UM-Dearborn student Mohammed Alsheraa will speak about Islam and Islamaphobia at the event. A question and answer session will also take place to address questions about Islam.

The talk is Monday, Dec. 5 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. in Kochoff Hall C. Middle Eastern food will be served.
