On the third floor of our Mardigian Library is the Alfred Berkowitz Gallery. The gallery is open every day except for Sundays.

Now, until October 5, the gallery is hosting its annual Open Competition.

The Open Competition is for Michigan artists, 18 and older, to submit their artwork to the juror that is selected.

This year, the juror is Bruce Winslow. Mr. Winslow has curated and juried many exhibitions before and narrowed over 120 pieces of artwork down to 40.

At the end of the competition, there will be three cash prizes for first, second and third place.

Make sure to head up to the third floor of the library to check out the Open Competition before it ends October 5.

The gallery is going to have one more exhibit for their 2017 season and have big ideas to kick off their 2018 season with. Be on the lookout for what the Berkowitz Gallery is bringing to UM-Dearborn.
