Dearborn Men’s Soccer Takes Care of Business

The University of Michigan-Dearborn men’s soccer team had a busy weekend playing two away games this past weekend. The Wolverines swept the weekend from Adrian College and Olivet College.

Saturday’s game against Adrian, they found themselves down by 3 goals early in the second half. That is when the Wolverines took over and found the way to score four goals to take the game 4-3.

Jacob Drzyzga scored his goal at 60:53. Kevin Gondoly scored 2 goals in this game. His first came at 67:51 and the other at 72:43. The last goal came from Ali Khcheiche at 89:21.

This goal by Khcheiche was scored with seconds left on the clock in the game sealing the game for UM-Dearborn. Khcheiche now has 4 goals in the young season.

On Sunday, the men were at it again playing Olivet and won the game 3-1. This game, Michigan-Dearborn was the team scoring early goals.

Mike Smith scored from five yards out at 7:32. Tamer El-Gamal scored at 24:50, and Mike Smith scored again at 60:43.

The weekend’s winning helped the University of Michigan-Dearborn men reach a 3-1 record overall.

The next game for the men’s soccer team will be played on September 15 at Cleary University at 3 pm. This is the last game before they enter conference play on September 23 when they travel to Marygrove College at 3 pm.
