The Wolverines traveled Wednesday to Rochester to play the Rochester College Warriors in their first WHAC (Wolverine Hoosier Athletic Conference) contest. The Warriors defeated the Wolverines 74-40. The Wolverines now have a 4-4 record overall and a 0-1 record in the WHAC.
The Wolverines kept it close through most of the game but could not contain the Warriors in the second half. The Warriors were led by Devan Valko who had 16 points including hitting four shots from 3-point range. Valko also had four rebounds and three assists.
The Wolverines were led by Megan Swick (SR/ Grosse Ile, Michigan) who had 14 points. Swick made four from 3-point range and two of two from the free throw line. She also had a rebound and an assist.
Sade Lemons (SO/ Sterling Heights, Michigan) added six points of her own. Lemons also made two of four from the free throw line, three rebounds, and an assist. Jeorgia Jones (SO/ Detroit, Michigan) led the Wolverines with four rebounds.
All the Wolverines saw action in this game trying to find a way to win the game against the Warriors. The Wolverines just could not get any traction and eventually lost the game.
The Wolverines return home to the UM-Dearborn Fieldhouse Saturday at 1pm to take on Lourdes University. This is a WHAC game and an important one for the Wolverines to get back to 500 in the conference.
