As Thanksgiving and Black Friday approach, many are beginning to plan their days accordingly to shop for the best deals they can. Several national chains will be opening their doors earlier than in past years to accommodate the growing number of consumers participating in Black Friday.
According to the National Retail Federation, an estimated 69% of Americans—or 164 million people—are planning on shopping during Thanksgiving weekend which now includes Cyber Monday. Black Friday, however, will remain the busiest day of the weekend with an estimated 115 million Americans expected to shop.
Barnes & Noble
Barnes & Noble will open at 8 a.m. on Black Friday with hours varying by location.
Best Buy will open at 5 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day and will close at 1 a.m. They will reopen at 8 a.m. on Friday.
Dick’s Sporting Goods
They will open at 6 p.m. on Thanksgiving and will remain open until 2 a.m. Dick’s Sporting Goods will reopen Friday from 5 a.m.-10 p.m.
They will open at 7 a.m. on Black Friday.
Game Stop will open at 5 a.m. on Black Friday, though hours will vary by location.

JCPenney will open at 3 p.m. on Thursday—hours will vary by location.
Will open at 6 a.m. on Thanksgiving and remain open until 10 p.m. on Friday. Some locations may close at midnight or 2 a.m. and reopen at 6 a.m. on Friday.
Kohls will open at 5 p.m. on Thanksgiving and hours will vary by location.
Macy’s will also open at 5 p.m. on Thanksgiving and hours will vary by location.
They will open at 6 a.m. on Thanksgiving and hours will vary by location.
Michaels will open at 8 a.m. on Black Friday.
Some Sears locations will open from 6 p.m.to midnight on Thanksgiving, though some will stay closed. All stores will reopen at 5 a.m. on Friday.
Target will open at 6 p.m. on Thanksgiving and close at midnight. They will reopen Friday at 6 a.m.
TJ Maxx will open at 9 a.m. on Black Friday, with hours varying by location.
Toys “R” Us
They will be open from 5 p.m. on Thanksgiving until 11 p.m. on Friday.
Most Walmart stores will remain open all day on Thanksgiving, but Black Friday sales will begin at 6 p.m. Hours will vary by location.
