Joe Milton is a four-star recruit for the Michigan Wolverines from Orlando, Florida. Milton is a huge addition to the Michigan 2018 class.
Joe Milton has been a hard commit for the Wolverines since early May and has been on the recruiting trail of his own for the University. He has been a huge advocate for Michigan and has been actively recruiting fellow members of the 2018 class.
Milton is a pro-style quarterback and ranks No. 6 overall for pro-style quarterbacks in the 2018 class. He is 6 foot 5 inches and weighs 230 pounds.
He has an incredible arm with the ability to accurately thrown the ball 70 yards. Milton told the Free Press, “I’m a person that’s going to be a leader and make everyone around me better.” He went on to say, “I don’t want people to just know me as my arm, because you don’t know what can happen.”
Milton is coming to Michigan as a pocket passer but he has the speed and athleticism to scramble out of the pocket when necessary. “I can run if I have to, but I’m a pocket passer,” Milton said.
Milton is the No. 38 player out of Florida and the No. 268 player in the country. He is coming to the University of Michigan which has recently seen the departure of Wilton Speight, and Alex Malzone to graduate transfers. John O’Korn will also not be with the Wolverines next year because of graduation and years of eligibility.
Milton told the Free Press, “for me competition is going to be competition, anywhere you go. No matter where you go, there’s going to be competition. I’m not going to back down from competition. It’s the person I am.”
Joe Milton will enroll in January at the University of Michigan and will be an early signee in December. He may have to sit a year at quarterback with the job going to Brandon Peters or Dylon McCaffrey but with Jim Harbaugh nothing is known ahead of time. No one will know who the week one starter will be in 2018 until game time against Notre Dame.
