On the morning of January 17, caution tape blocked off a window with shattered glass in the hallway of the College of Arts, Sciences and Letters.

Restorers arrived to the scene at around 8:30 a.m. to remove the glass from the panel and board up the damaged window.

Many rumors surfaced of what happened during this incident. According to Capt. Jim Knittel of Campus Safety, it was not a serious issue.

“We did not have a burglary at CASL,” said Knittel. “It was an accident involving a piece of equipment.”

The university has not provided full details about the incident at this time.

Building Services manager Kevin Headrick says the window will be replaced as soon as the glass company gets the window manufactured.
