As the weather changes and midterm season comes to an end, take advantage of student discounts and head on over to AMC Fairlane to watch some of your favorite actors on the big screen. Ticket prices range from $4-$8, giving you a bang for your buck. But as Hollywood releases films frequently, it can be overwhelming for many of us as we scratch our heads not knowing which movie to watch.   • Maleficent: Mistress of Evil

Produced by Walt Disney Pictures and a sequel of Maleficent, this movie is a dark fantasy adventure film in which an intimidating queen causes a split between Princess Aurora and Maleficent. Together, they must now face enemies in an attempt to protect the magical lands that they share. If you’re a fan of Disney, you won’t want to miss this film. 

 

  • Terminator: Dark Fate

 

Starring: Linda Hamilton, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Gabriel Luna

Release Date: November 1, 2019

Adding to the Terminator franchise, Linda Hamilton plays Sarah Conner, who attempts to protect a young girl from a newly modified Terminator with the help of a cyborg human hybrid. However, this new Terminator poses a huge threat as it is from the future.

Is there a more intense actor lineup in the history of movies? This epic crime film is the story of Frank Sheeran, a mob hitman and World War II veteran. Now an old man, he looks back at his past as a hitman and all the events he was a part of. Sheeran reflects closely on the role that he played in the disappearance of his longtime friend and his involvement with the Bufalino crime family. 

 

  • Doctor Sleep

If you’re a horror movie fanatic, this will be the perfect experience for you. Based on the book by Stephen King, this movie is about Dan Torrance, a man struggling with alcoholism who is traumatized by sinister events that happened when he was a child. A part of The Shining series, this fantasy thriller will certainly get you hooked.

This reboot has a fresh new look as Charlie’s Angels have to put their lives on the line to protect society from a systems engineer who releases a new dangerous technology.

Arguably the most popular children’s movies in the past few years, Frozen is coming out with its second movie, giving us the chance to see Elsa and her sister embark on a new journey far away from Arendelle. If you have any young children in your family and want to spend a day with them, this is the perfect way to do so.

  • Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker

This will be the third installment of the updated Star Wars trilogy and the very final episode of the nine-part “Skywalker saga.” We will be able to witness the Resistance face the First Order one more time and the end of the ancient conflict between the Sith and the Jedi. If you haven’t watched the Star Wars films before, I recommend you start so that you’re prepared to watch this epic finale on the big screen!
