I love the opening of a new academic year. It holds so much promise: “I’ll do great things!” from the new student. “I’ll do things differently!” from some returning students. “Only one more year to graduation!” from those who can see the goal down the road. Dr. Forman discusses race, society at UM-Dearborn

On February 7, the University of Michigan-Dearborn welcomed professor and the Vice Provost for Diversity and Senior Adviser to the Chancellor at the University of Illinois-Chicago, Dr. Tyrone Forman, to speak on the social issue of prejudice in a series of lectures called “The Conversation on Race.”

The Student Diversity Council prepares for Cultural Expo

On Thursday January 16, 2014 at 2:30 pm, the Student Diversity Council conducted a meeting regarding the University of Michigan-Dearborn’s annual Cultural Expo. The Multicultural Expo will take place in all Kochoff Halls Thursday March 13, 2014 located in the University Center. The Expo is an event where any culturally based organization such as the student Jewish organization, Albanian American club, and French club come together to celebrate diversity through food, posters, and speakers. “You get to go around and experience different countries cultures through their food or whatever organization representatives have set up to educate you with.” said, Aida Al-Jahdhami from the Omani Student association, a sophomore at the University of Michigan-Dearborn.
