The Office for Student Engagement movie screening: “Saving Face”

Students and faculty on University of Michigan-Dearborn’s campus will gather together for a Leadership Lens film series next week, on February 12 and 13 in Kochoff Hall B and House of Maize and Blue in the Union at Dearborn. The series will expose controversial issues throughout the world and after the screening students and staff will be able to share their thoughts and ideas about the film.

The Black Student Union working to educate others on heart health

The Black Student Union (BSU) has been very busy this school year. This semester they are choosing to focus on health issues and how they can help. Thursday, February 6 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. BSU will be hosting Hustle for Hearts, an event aimed at educating people on heart health and getting people moving. In an effort to show everyone a new way to get healthy and stay active, BSU and those who choose to attend will be doing hustles. They will also be providing everyone with information about heart health.

As a resident of The Union, I wanted to offer the experience I have been privy to for the past four months and some change, in hopes that a little more light might be shed on a situation that seems to be going unnoticed by too many people and maybe serve as a cautionary tale for those looking at The Union as their future place of residence in the 2014-2015 school year.
